Great post! I just used your suggestions to have a no nonsense power breakfast: egg whites with spinach, organic yogurt with cinnamon and flaxmeal, and some coffee (with some stevia and a tough of soy milk)!!! I'll save the red wine for dinner, though :). Thanks for the post.

Glad spinach is on your list Chris. I've been recently made it part of my lunch by putting it on the wholemeal sandwiches I make for work. Not only do I find it quite tasty but it also adds a nice texture to the sandwich.

I love the recommendation for Spinach.

It's a shame that spinach isn't in more people's diets. Such a great food...

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the post. I never would have considered cinnamon to be a power food because I just didn't know enough about it. Thanks for the idea of cinnamon barbecue sauce!

All the Best,

Great read, you are sooo right about cinnamon, I was going to write about it myself, he he...
But I did not know all those things about wine... haven't drink it since last Xmas... I usually make Mulled Wine with lots of spices.
Daily I use green tea, grapefruits and cranberries as my source of anti-oxidants.

Great blog and very nice theme! :)

Chris - solid list! Now off to put some cinnamon in my morning Americano (cinnamon is also a great anti-fungal food for the gut).

@ Methulselah: The spinach I get is usually grown in Holland and Organically certified its the stuff from waitrose. Its my favourite sub for both rice and pasta and I can now enjoy things like pesto and chili con carne with a base.
I have been experimenting with twitter for a while now and I felt as post counts have had to go down (time constraints) I have decided to utilize twitter I will be updating it with my workouts, some of my meals, cool links so its basically going to be a mini Zen to Fitness.....

@ Keith: In a strict paleo diet you may find flax hard to incorporate unless you get creative I mix mine with canned pumpkin and its great, no more cravings for oatmeal!!
Straight black coffee is the way to go only Americano's for me, occasionally an espresso after lunch and I try to get my coffee organic and freshly roasted when I can. I also love making a nice french pressed coffee to start the day or have with breakfast, if my sweet tooth is playing up I will add a small spoon of Xylitol but usually I just enjoy it black.....

Thanks for checking in guys!
