This one is pretty simple and its something I have experienced great benefits since including in my diet, more so than just about any other food I have added. This comes partly due to their regulating properties rather than have a nourishing effect of other essential foods.
Since introducing lemon juice to my daily routine my digestion has improved significantly as have my energy levels and general vitality!
The health benefits of lemon’s are widely know and we’re going to delve into that later for now I am going to share with you a few methods of using lemon that will help you by:
- Regulating Digestion
- Improve Breakdown of food thanks to increased stomach acid
- Enhancing Nutrient Absorption
- Alkalizing the body
- Enhancing Mineral absorption (Stop body leeching calcium from bones)
For this week I want you to give the following things a try and see how much better you feel.
1 – Have the juice of a lemon first thing in the morning in a cup of hot water (basically make yourself a lemon juice tea)
2 – Slice up Lemon and add it to your drinking water throughout the day
3 – When you can use lemon juice in salad dressing’s or squeeze it over sea food or chicken
I guarantee that within a few days you will be feeling the difference. Now some more information on Lemon’s.
Lemon’s have long been seen as something used in “master cleanses” they are a folk remedy for detoxification and a classic cure for sore throats when the juice of a lemon is mixed with Cayenne Pepper, Honey, and Ginger in Hot Water, this is something worth trying first thing in the morning if you feel a cold coming on……As well as this half the juice of a lemon daily has been shown to increase Citrate in the body which will help fight off things like Kidney stones and keep your bones strong.
Use The Peel
The Peel of a lemon can have huge benefits as they are the only part of the lemon that contain Limonene which protect the bodies cells and guard things like your Liver and Lungs. Therefore don’t discard the peel peel it off and throw it over your chicken before roasting or add some to your green tea……
So give it a try this week. Buy yourself a bag of lemons and make full use of them….Try to drink the juice of 1 large lemon daily plus squeeze another one and keep it in your fridge for use with salad dressings here’s a quick recipe:
- Juice of 1/2 a Lemon
- 1 TBSP Wholegrain Mustard
- 1 TBSP of Runny Honey
- Generous hit of Olive Oil
- Sea Salt and Pepper
Throw that over a salad of lettuce, avocados and tomatoes and your in for a treat. Lemons definitely are the one superfood that receives too little hype, start using them and watch your digestion, well being and vitality improve within days!
