Thanks for these! As the other guy said, it makes a refreshing change to hear health advice that doesn't involve food or exercise!

Chris, I couldn't agree with you more about fruit! It seems like there is some sort of fruit phobia in the primal community. I eat just as much fruit as you, and look at a guys like Craig Ballentyne who eat a ton of fruit and are absolutely ripped.

A really great post, as usual! I have one qualm though.

Even though fruit may not make a person fat, eating a lot of fruit can interfere with weight loss. The research, and a great deal of anecdotal experience (my own included) definitely support this.

Fruit is awesome, and an important part of my diet to be sure, but eating as much fruit as you describe (several apples and handfuls of berries), could certainly serve as an obstacle to fat loss in someone with particularly poor insulin sensitivity or hyperinsulinemia. Even though the sugar shock is mitigated by the fleshiness and mass of the fruit, you are still eating a good amount of sugar.

Additionally, people with high triglycerides should moderate their fruit intake, as fructose isn't metabolized like glucose, but instead is transformed directly into triglycerides in the liver.

Again, fruit is a delicious and healthy part of our diet, but you CAN over do it.

@ Bryce: Great post. moderation is the key with fruit but too many people fear the stuff. I find it goes down much better in the morning as well. I steer clear of fruit after dinner except sometimes strawberries and a few grapes.

It's nice to see a fitness blog talk about doing doing kindness to others;) It's something that we often forget about and in fact, doing good to others is one of the best things we can do for ourselves.

awesome post :) that part about kindness and happiness is so true. too bad most of us don't see it. matter of fact that claim has been proven by science: they gave a group of people the task of performing 5 good deeds in one day every week. later, when comparing with the other groups taking part in the experiment, the kindness group had increased their overall happiness by 25 % !

Thanks for the great reminders! I believe the process versus outcome is really a key to become happy. I also think that it is important to be reminded to keep your attention directed outward - perhaps especially for those of us that are into self-development and self-investigation. We shouldn't forget that making others better, making others happy, is a great way to be happy and content with our own lives.

@ Anne: Thanks for the tips I did some quick editing ;) I am really lazy with proof reading......Thanks for reading and glad you enjoyed the post!
