Very good post Chris. Really inspirational. I get similar comments quite from a lot of people. "Why do you go to the gym so much?", "Why have you got all that fruit on your desk?" are some of the common questions I get. I think it's just human nature to challenge those who are different to normal. You just have to learn to accept it, block it out and get on with your own thing.

@ Kat: Great story and glad to hear your enjoying life, thats the most important thing!
@ Keith: Never thought of it that way but its a damn good point and something we should all remember when doing our thing!
@ Warren: giving up the alcohol must have been a liberating experience. I feel you on the hangovers they are probably the nastiest thing known to man....

Awesome posts, thanks for contributing!!

Good post. I have recently taken a booze sabatical which is now in its 5th month. Its like a reawakening. I wasn't an alchoholic but I did waste too much time on drinking and hangovers. Now I feel like Im questioning alot more of the clutter thats thrown at us daily by the Man in the hope that we'll buy into it.

I'm living a healthful life and enjoying the simpler side of things. I don't watch TV and I think I eat well. I think I've just taken a major turn in my life and I like it. I also get the feeling there are more and more people who are starting to see through the rubbish.

Cheers

I enjoy knowing that what is gained from following a fit lifestyle -- unlike any material acquisition -- cannot be bought.

My life in the past few years is very much against the grain-- I homeschool my kids,we don't watch tv, we're vegetarians, don't eat fast food, soda or other processed foods and I get up at 4 am to run or get in a good workout. Yet I'm the happiest I've ever been.
When others question our lifestyle I only smile and let them judge for themselves while my kids and I sing, dance, play, create and bask in the joys of our lives.

Chris,
So very true. Living a healthy life is not just about its positive outcomes, it is a way of life. And it turns to a struggle without the passion very easily.

And if what others say or think bothers us, let's remember another quote of Ghandi
'First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win'. If they are laughing at you, that means you are in stage two and on the right path to win:)

cheers
